NRP leader Zevulun Orlen and National Union Chairman Beni Elon met with Rabbi Moti Elon overnight and attempted to persuade him to reconsider his decision not to lead a joint right wing list that would run for the next Knesset. Rabbi Elon, however, remained adamant about his refusal, prompting the NRP to decide to independently operate its campaign headquarters, while leaving the option of a future merger open, Army Radio reported.
