Hadash MK Muhammad Barakei secretly met with Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal during a conference about the Palestinian Nakba in Abu-Dhabi two weeks ago, according to a report in the Arab Israeli newspaper Kul-Alarab.
The report sis not elaborate over the content of the discussion between the two, but emphasized that the discussion was serious and not a mere chance encounter.
Barakei would not comment on the report, but told the paper that "Attaining unity amongst Palestinians is an issue that keeps me occupied at all times and we are willing to invest all of the efforts in the channel."
