MK Haim Oron (Meretz) has been secretly holding talks with jailed Tanzim leader Marwan Barghouti, and could be acting as a go-between for Barghouti and Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Israel Radio reported on Monday evening.
Oron refused to confirm or deny the report, but sources in Meretz said that even if Oron had not been named to speak in Olmert's name, he had held talks with Barghouti.
The Prime Minister's Office denied the report.
