The Homosexual-Lesbian movement is an epidemic and should be dealt with like the Health Ministry deals with bird flu, MK Nissim Ze'ev (Shas) said on Tuesday at the Knesset's Law and Constitution Committee.
The committee was discussing a bill which would limit parades in Jerusalem that touched on issues of sensitivity to the public. Effectively, the bill would prevent the Gay Pride Parade from taking place.
MK Zehava Gal-On (Meretz) said Ze'ev's statements "reveal [his] ignorance. [Perhaps] tomorrow they'll forbid women from walking the streets of Jerusalem without head coverings."
