Sneh: Israel needs to initiate talks with Abbas

Deputy Defense Minister Ephraim Sneh said that Israel should initiate talks with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas in order to give the Palestinians "the feeling of political horizons." According to Sneh, the fundamental guidelines of the new PA Unity Government state that Abbas would accept any political agreement that would be agreed on in a referendum. Speaking to Israel Radio Friday morning, Sneh said he believed that "only through strengthening the power of Abbas will the PA chairman, as a deal maker, be able to defeat Hamas"
