Soldier wounded in mortar shell attack loses leg

One of eight soldiers wounded in a Palestinian mortar shell attack on an IDF base at Nahal Oz lost his leg as a result of his wounds on Saturday. Surgeons at Ashkelon's Barzilai Hospital were forced to amputate the leg of 21-year-old Noam Nikash of Beersheba. Doctors were trying to save his other leg. Seven other troops, including two female soldiers, were lightly to moderately wounded after terrorists fired mortar shells from the Gaza Strip on Friday evening.
