The Supreme Court sentenced on Wednesday three people to four years in prison after they were convicted of severe traffic violations.
One of the culprits, a Beersheba resident, refused police orders to stop when he was spotted driving over the speed limit.
Another man was chased by police under similar circumstances, causing several drivers to stop abruptly.
A third man, an Ashdod resident, also refused to stop his vehicle after police caught him driving dangerously while talking on his mobile phone.
"In order to give our contribution to the war on road accidents, we decided on such a stern punishment," said Justice Edmond Levy.
