Three killed, six seriously injured in car accidents

Man killed in J'lem as he has a heart attack and crashes into bus; 2 Palestinians killed as cars collide near Nablus.

A 60-year-old man was killed as his car crashed into a bus on Jerusalem's Eshkol Boulevard on Monday afternoon. Emergency medical teams that arrived at the scene tried to resuscitate the man but eventually pronounced him dead. According to an initial investigation, the accident occurred when the driver had a heart attack. Meanwhile, a 13-year-old Palestinian boy was in critical condition after he was run over by a taxi at the Hizme checkpoint north of Jerusalem. He was evacuated to the Hadassah Ein Karem University Medical Center. In the North, an eight-year-old boy was seriously injured when he was hit by a car near a hotel in the Druse village of Peki'in. A Magen David Adom team evacuated the young boy to Rambam Hospital in Haifa. Police were investigating the driver of the car. A 17-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured after she was hit by a car near the Cinemall (formerly the Lev Hamifratz mall) in Haifa. She was apparently crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing when she was run over. Emergency medical teams evacuated the girl to Rambam Hospital in Haifa. Earlier on Monday, a 23-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured when he was hit by a passing car in Jerusalem. According to reports, the accident occurred at the Pat intersection in the city. Magen David Adom paramedics who arrived on the scene treated the man before evacuating him to the Hadassah University Medical Center. Also on Monday morning, two Palestinians were killed and two others were seriously wounded when two cars collided on a highway near Nablus.
