Two IDF soldiers from Daliat el-Carmel committed suicide, one after the other, on Friday morning.

The first soldier, Ashraf Meriyah, was found in his home with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head just after dawn.

When his friend, Louis Nasser a-Din, in his Haifa area army base, found out about Meriyah’s death, he, too, shot himself in the head.

Meriyah was 18 years’ old, while Nasser a-Din was 21 and was near completion of his military service.

The Military Police launched an investigation.
