Two dead in weekend road accidents

Eight people injured - including three seriously - in car crashes in Petah Tikva, Tel Aviv and w. Galilee.

Two people were killed and eight injured in three separate car accidents that took place over the weekend. The latest incident occurred in Petah Tikva on Saturday when a private car collided with a taxi on Einstein St. A woman was immediately killed and her 20-year-old daughter seriously injured as a result of the crash. The woman's husband was lightly injured. Two passengers traveling in the taxi were lightly injured. All of the injured were evacuated to a hospital by firefighters. Meanwhile, one of two youths seriously injured during an early morning three-car traffic accident on the Ayalon highway, near the JNF interchange, died from his injuries Saturday. Magen David Adom paramedics had rushed the two, both in their twenties, to a nearby hospital. Police were investigating the circumstances of the crash. Earlier, a 24-year-old was seriously injured near Tamra in the western Galilee. The young man was suffering from injuries to the head and two others were lightly injured during the incident. MDA members evacuated all three people to Rambam Hospital in Haifa.
