The World Likud's 120 delegates will convene in Jerusalem on Sunday to elect a new chairman for the Likud's international body. The race pits MK Yuval Steinitz, who has the backing of party chairman Binyamin Netanyahu, against World Beitar Chairman Danny Danon, who has the support of hawkish Likud activists abroad. Steinitz said he wanted to win because "this is the last chance to save the World Likud and rebuilt it from the bottom up." Danon said he intended to use the World Likud to fight against Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's "realignment" plan to withdraw from most of the West Bank. Results will be available on Sunday afternoon Israel time.
