Former IDF chief-of-staff Moshe Ya'alon announced Tuesday night that he would not seek a position on any party list in the upcoming Knesset elections. Ya'alon said that he had supported, during his tenure in the IDF, a cooling-off period for senior staff between retirement from the army and entering politics, and that he would not make an exception for himself. He said that he based this position on a belief that it was better for the IDF.
