Jewish Agency upgrades security worldwide ahead of Yom Kippur
By HAVIV RETTIG GUR
Security has been upgraded in Jewish Agency institutions worldwide ahead of Yom Kippur, a day in which a record number of Jews congregate in synagogues and community centers around the world for prayer.
An agency statement did not offer details on the new
precautions, but noted that the move comes due to worries about growing anti-Semitic violence in some areas and the threat from Islamist terror groups after the assassination of Hizbullah operations chief Imad Mughniyeh in February.
