Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas said Wednesday afternoon that Hamas gunmen had "desecrated" Palestinian national symbols in Gaza, such as the home of the "late martyr Yasser Arafat" and the statue of the Unknown Soldier.
Abbas spoke in Ramallah in his first public address since Hamas seized control of the Gaza Strip last week.
