Blair supports inquiry into Saddam's execution

Prime Minister Tony Blair has offered his support to an Iraqi inquiry into the circumstances of Saddam Hussein's execution, Blair's office said Wednesday. The deposed former dictator was taunted by onlookers as he was hanged on Saturday, and illicitly recorded camera phone footage of his death was later leaked and distributed on the Internet. Blair, taking a family vacation in Florida, fully endorsed the decision to investigate the manner of the execution, a spokeswoman said on customary condition of anonymity in line with government policy.
