Car bombing in western Turkey injures 16

A car bombing in western Turkey on Thursday wounded 16 people, mostly police officers and soldiers, the governor's office said. The blast occurred near a bus carrying police officers in Izmir province on the Aegean coast, the governor's office in Izmir said. "We believe that the explosion was caused by plastic explosives detonated with remote control," Gov. Cahit Kirac was quoted by the state-run Anatolia news agency as saying.
