Egypt postpones conference on Gaza 'til March

Egypt's foreign ministry says the country will host an international conference on rebuilding Gaza in March. It gave no specific date. Friday's announcement reflects a slight postponement, since Egyptian Foreign Minister Aboul Gheit on Tuesday said the conference would take place in Cairo in the last week of February. It's unclear whether this meant that Egyptian mediation efforts between rival Hamas and Fatah had stumbled again. The ministry said the conference would be "organized in coordination" with the Palestinian Authority.
