'Egyptian official says Israeli government is weak and unstable'

The Israeli government is weak and unstable, and is influenced by public opinion instead of influencing it, London-based Al-Hayat quoted a senior Egyptian source as saying Saturday.
That source said Egypt was continuing its efforts to bring about a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. But while Israel is interested in an agreement in the Gaza Strip only, "Hamas insists on a ceasefire that will include the West Bank."
