Egyptian police scuffle with poor inhabitants of Cairo shantytown

Egyptian police scuffled with inhabitants of a shantytown on the outskirts of Cairo, Israel Radio reported Wednesday evening. Many poor Egyptians live in tents and makeshift houses on the outskirts of the Egyptian capital, and their poor living conditions are an intermittent source of friction with authorities.
