Lebanese prime minister condemns recent violence in north of country

Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Saniora on Monday condemned recent violence in Tripoli.
Saniora said the overnight fighting between pro- and anti-government supporters that left four people dead in the northern city was undermining efforts to stabilize Lebanon.
Speaking during a news conference Monday, Saniora added that his government is making every effort is being made to end these types of conflicts.
Lebanese security officials said the violence since Sunday has killed a total of eight people and wounded 42 so far.
