Lebanese soldier shoots colleague, kills woman, then commits suicide

A Lebanese soldier shot an army sergeant and killed a woman who was with his colleague before taking his own life, security officials said Tuesday The officials said that the cause of the shooting in Beirut's coastal Mina al-Hosn neighborhood was not clear, but that it may have involved personal issues. They said that the soldier first shot the sergeant with four bullets, then the woman who died from her wounds, then shot himself. The sergeant survived. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media. No names were provided.
