Poland has offered to more than double its number of troops serving in the peacekeeping force in Lebanon to 500, a Defense Ministry spokesman said.
The offer was made at an EU summit in Brussels by Polish Foreign Minister Anna Fotyga, said Piotr Paszkowski, spokesman for the Defense Ministry. "She has offered to upgrade our contingent to 500 - That would be an extra 300," Paszkowski told The Associated Press.
Poland's current deployment is 214.
