Police official: 10 dead in building collapse in Egypt

At least 10 people died when an apartment building collapsed in the Egyptian port city of Alexandria, a police official said Wednesday.
The official said at least six other residents were wounded when the six-story building collapsed early Wednesday in downtown Alexandria. Rescue workers began to search for survivors, and police launched an investigation into the cause of the collapse.
The official spoke on condition of anonymity as he was not authorized to talk to the media.
