Saudi prince: Israel has tried war, it should now make peace

Israel has tried war for dozens of years without success; it is now time for it to make peace and withdraw from the Palestinian territories, Israel Radio quoted Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal as saying Tuesday. Speaking at the Middle East peace conference in Annapolis, al-Faisal also called for the earliest possible resumption of talks with Lebanon and Syria, which wants the return of the Golan Heights, land captured by Israel during the 1967 Six Day War. "We have come to support the launching of serious and continuing talks between the Palestinians and the Israelis that will address all the core and final status issues," Prince Saud said. "These talks must be followed by the launching of the Syrian and Lebanese tracks at the earliest."
