An Iraqi-owned satellite channel based in Syria denied on Wednesday US allegations that it aired Iraqi insurgent propaganda videos.
The denial by the Al-Rai TV comes as the Bush administration moved to impose economic sanctions on individuals accused of supporting violence in Iraq. The list released by the Treasury Department also noted Al-Rai, which was said to have aired videos of Iraqi insurgent attacks.
The TV said it only covers news of "groups resisting the US occupation of Iraq."
US Treasury said Al-Rai is owned by a man already on the sanctions list, Mishan al-Jubouri. Al-Jubouri's wife, Rawa al-Usta, also was listed for purportedly managing the station on behalf of her husband.
