The weekend's attack that killed 17 people in Damascus was carried out by a suicide bomber, Syria said Monday.
The official news agency SANA and state television said the attacker belonged to a Muslim extremist group and that the car crossed into Syria from a neighboring Arab country a day before Saturday's bombing.
