US congressman Steve Israel meets Mubarak in Cairo

US congressman Rep. Steve Israel (D-N.Y.) met Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit in Cairo on Sunday.
Israel is a member of the US Senate Committee on Appropriations, a committee which last month froze 100 million dollars in aid to Egypt and ordered Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to examine whether Cairo was working sufficiently to stem weapons smuggling into Gaza.
