US military: Soldier killed by small-arms fire in Baghdad

The US military says a soldier has been killed during a gun-battle in a Shi'ite militia stronghold in Baghdad.
Military spokesman Lt. Col. Steve Stover says the soldier was wounded by small-arms fire Wednesday afternoon and died later at a US military hospital.
Stover says the attack occurred in the eastern neighborhood of New Baghdad.
