The tension was high as a dozen golfers teed off in Ga'ash Golf Club on May 28, for the final round of the 2008 ERRN Eclectic Golf Competition.
Beginning November 28, this was the second year that the six-month competition has run.
The group participating in the competition consisted of all types of golf fanatics, including doctors, businessmen, industrialists and professors.
The tournament spanned over 27 Wednesdays throughout the year, where the golfers played rain or shine.
The Eclectic Competition had 13 rounds, and for each hole, players kept only the best core for those rounds. This way the golfers were able to reach scores in the high 50s, close to 20 under par.
The tournament also incorporated side competitions like the "End of the Winter Classic" or "Pesach, Matzah and Maror", a competition invented by one of the tournament's participants, Dr. Maoz, consisting of a stable ford scoring sequence of Pesach being the best ball, Matza equaling the sum of the two and the Maror being the worst score.
The final game was then followed by a trophy award ceremony held at the golf course's clubhouse.
Shmulik Futeran was invited to give out the competition's awards to the Eclectic competition's first place winners, Mark Levy and Shai Brosh, who was last year's winner as well.
Both players finished with net 51 points. Gidi Golan took first place for the "End of the Winter Classic" and Eitan Kligman won "The Pesach, Matzah and Maror" competition.
