Grant takes Portsmouth post

Former national soccer team coach Avraham Grant was named technical director of English Premier League side Portsmouth on Friday. Grant was part of a major overhaul of coach Harry Redknapp's staff, which also included appointing former Arsenal great Tony Adams as assistant manager. After a rich career at the club level in Israel and an undefeated run with the national team, Grant walked away from negotiations with Betar Jerusalem to pursue opportunities overseas. Ironically, Portsmouth is part owned by Alexandre Gaydamak, son of Betar owner Arkady Gaydamak.
