Judoka Shahar Levy claimed the silver medal at the Junior World Championships in Bangkok on Thursday, the first Israeli to do so in 19 years.
The 18-year-old Levy lost in the final of the under-52 kilogram competition to Japan's Chiho Kagaya after receiving a penalty with 10 seconds remaining in the fight.
The only other Israeli to reach a final at the Junior World championships is Oren Smadja, who finished second in the competition in 1989.
