Shahar Pe’er ended her seven-match losing streak against top 10 players on Wednesday by beating world number three and top seed Caroline Wozniacki in the third round of the Dubai Tennis Championships.

The 22-year-old Israeli, ranked No. 22 in the world, defeated the Dane 6-2, 7-5.

Pe’er, who was famously denied entry into the tournament in the Emirates last year, had lost all three of her previous meetings with Wozniacki, including in the third round of the Australian Open less than four weeks ago when the Israeli took just four games in a straight sets loss.
