The Vatican's official travel agency, Romana Opera Pellegrinaggi, has started operating six weekly charter flights to Israel. The new cooperation was expected to bring 7,000 pilgrims from Italy to Israel every week, Tourism Ministry director-general Shaul Tzemach said.
Meanwhile, final preparations are underway for the fifth annual Pilgrimage Marathon for Peace, scheduled to take place Pessah Eve. Pilgrims will march from Bethlehem to the Temple Mount to promote peace in the region.
