The scene outside a Paris court on Thursday where designer John Galliano was to answer to charges he hurled anti-Semitic slurs at three people at a Paris cafe.Galliano made numerous references to his struggles with addiction to drugs and alcohol, saying he has been in denial about the extent of his problems . Prosecutors are demanding the designer pay a $14,350 in damages to the two people he is reported to have lashed out at.Whatever the court's verdict, Galliano's career is already in tatters. He was fired from the fashion house Dior in March, after a video posted online showed him drunkenly telling a woman that he loved Hitler.The man known for his his bold statements on the runway, had little to say as he darted to a waiting car outside the court.French law prohibits public insults toward others because of their origins, race or religion . Prosecutors are not seeking prison time and the verdict is expected on Sept. 8.
