A large outdoor exhibit opening next month will pay tribute to the founding of Petah Tikva, which, according to Zionist legend, was established by Yoel Moshe Solomon and five fellow pioneers after they arrived at the site of the future city on horseback.
The exhibit, "Horses on the Moshava," opens August 17 and will feature more than 100 sculptures of horses by artists from both Israel and abroad. Among the better known contributors are singer Arik Einstein, artist Menashe Kadishman and Construction and Housing Minister Meir Sheetrit. The display will be spread across Petah Tikva's central park and will run through the end of September.
