The Israel Museum has announced that Amitai Mendelsohn is to be Curator of Israeli Art, a role he has fulfilled for several years as an associate.
Mendelsohn, 36, joined the Israel Museum in 1995 and has produced a number of Israeli shows. His latest is the early Reuven Rubin exhibition that opened at the museum November 16, devoted to works Rubin painted between 1914 and 1923. He is currently working on three new shows: Landscapes by Avraham Ofek; works by Michal Helpman and a group show of Israeli Art from the museum's collection.
