YouTube launches discounted subscriptions for families and students in Israel

Google introduces two new affordable subscription plans in Israel for families and students, though iPhone users will pay slightly more.

Google has announced the launch of new, cost-effective subscription options for its premium services, YouTube Premium and YouTube Music, for users in Israel. This move is part of Google's efforts to expand its subscriber base and offer greater flexibility to users.

The new YouTube Premium family subscription allows up to six family members living in the same household to enjoy the service's benefits, including ad-free video viewing, background music listening, and offline content downloads. The family subscription is available at an attractive price for Android users, while iOS users will pay slightly more.

Additionally, Google has introduced a special subscription for students, offering access to premium services at a significantly reduced price. To avail of the discount, students must verify their eligibility through an external verification service.

The launch in Israel follows the global success of YouTube's premium services, which recently surpassed 100 million subscribers.
