130 Sderot families go north for a weekend

Away from rocket fire range and the daily reality of stress and anxiety, 130 Sderot residents will travel north to Tiberias on Tuesday for a three-day retreat. The non-profit organization One Family Fund is sponsoring the trip, which will include touring local attractions and hosting therapy programs. There are 20,000 people living in the western Negev town, most of whom have some form of post-traumatic stress disorder, according to Yehuda Poch, One Family Fund's director of communications. Residents have had to endure over 9,500 rockets since April 2001. "It's important to bring people away from that regular routine of fear," Poch said. "And allow them to live, breathe and be calm, without having to worry." One Family Fund is organizing a trip next week to Eilat for 300 victims of terror from Sderot.
