3.1 magnitude earthquake strikes northern Israel

A 3.1 magnitude earthquake hit northern Israel Sunday night, northeast of Tiberias.

This is the fourth mild earthquake to shake up Israel's Northern region on Sunday.

The first was a minor earthquake measuring approximately 2.9 on the Richter scale and was reported in Israel's north near the Sea of Galilee early Sunday morning.

The second earthquake occurred later on Sunday morning and measured 3.2 on the Richter scale and was reported in the same region, according to Israeli Media.

On Sunday afternoon, residents reported a 3.9 magnitude earthquake felt in the area of Tiberas.

Israel's north has been shaken by a string of earthquakes in recent days, with experts fearing a "big one" may still yet be due.
