Acre man murdered one year after his brother shot to death

An Acre died of a gunshot wound to the head shortly after he was taken to the Nahariya Hospital on Friday night.

The victim, 23-year-old Hamada Amar, was brought to a Magen David Adom station in Acre Friday night by friends, suffering from a single bullet wound to the head. Coastal District Police say they believe he was sitting in his car when he was hit by a gunshot from a passing car, but added that they have not ruled out other possibilities.

Only a year ago, Amar's brother was gunned down in a shooting in the city.

Police added that Amar is “known to police”, and that his murder is being investigated by the Coastal District's special investigative unit.
