ADL: Syria attack an 'immoral crime of the first order'

The Anti-Defamation League on Wednesday issued a response to Syrian President Bashar Assad's use of chemical weapons against civilians, stating the attack is an "immoral crime of the first order."
"We are horrified and outraged at the use of chemical weapons against civilians in Syria, an immoral crime of the first order,"  Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director, said in a statement.
"As Jews, we are particularly sickened by the images of unarmed and defenseless men, women and children who were indiscriminately targeted for death by toxic chemical weapons made and stockpiled by the Syrian government," he added.
Foxman called on the international community as a "moral imperative" to act now to prevent further atrocities in Syria, stating: "The world failed to act during the Holocaust and stood by through the genocides in Cambodia and Rwanda. It is a moral imperative that the international community act now to prevent further atrocities in Syria."
