Army Radio: Israel lets building materials into Gaza

Israel let building materials into Gaza, for the first time since Operation Cast Lead, on Monday, Israel Radio reported.

15 trucks carrying gravel were let through the Karni checkpoint, while 5 tons of construction steel and 250 tons of various building supplies, including cement, were transferred at the Kerem Shalom checkpoint.

Erez Coordination and Liaison Center spokeswoman told Israel Radio the materials were intended for a construction project to build over 150 apartments for refugees at the Khan Yunis camp. The materials being transferred are limited and controlled, the spokeswoman stressed.
