Sa'ar: Unauthorized spyware users must be held accountable

"Law enforcement authorities must treat Israeli citizens' rights like a holy grail," Justice Minister Gideon Sa'ar said on Sunday.

"Whoever violates these rights without authority should be held accountable," he said.

He added that the current investigation into the Israel Police's use of spyware is also intended to set standards for the future.
