Coronavirus in Israel: 12,930 new cases, numbers continue to drop

Death toll stands at 10,003 • Nearly 2,000 IDF personnel sick • numbers continue to trend downwards

12,930 new cases of the novel coronavirus were reported in Israel on Tuesday, with 753 patients in serious condition, according to a Tuesday morning update by the Health Ministry.

Of those infected, 224 were on ventilators. The death toll passed the 10,000 mark and currently stands at 10,003.

4,461,159 Israelis had received the third dose and 720,986 received the fourth dose of the coronavirus vaccine as of Tuesday morning.

In the IDF, 1,927 soldiers have COVID-19, while 1,286 are in quarantine.

The numbers reflect the ongoing downward trend of Israel's fifth COVID wave.
