IDF decides to lighten punishment of Givati soldier in Hebron incident

The commander of the IDF's Southern Command approved on Friday the lightening of the punishment of a Givati soldier who was sentenced to 10 days in prison for statements he made to a left-wing activist in Hebron last week.

The soldier's punishment will be reduced to six days in prison. The decision was made in light of regret expressed by the soldier as well as the fact that the soldier took responsibility for his actions.
