Russian warships practice laying mines of Crimean coast - report

Three Russian warships practiced laying naval mines off the coast of Crimea in the Black Sea, Interfax reported on Tuesday morning.

The Tapir-class landing ship Orsk and Ropucha-class landing ships Caesar Kunikov and Yamal held exercises laying the mines across routes of mock enemy forces, as well as practicing naval gunnery against coastal targets. The fleet's minesweepers also conducted exercises for finding and destroying minefields.

Crimea's Sevastapol is the base of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet, and has been repeatedly harried by Ukrainian naval and aerial drone attacks throughout the Russia-Ukraine War.
