Former MK Mohammad Barakeh detained after organizing pro-Gaza protest

Former Hadash MK Mohammad Barakeh was detained on Thursday after trying to organize a pro-Palestinian protest police said could have led to incitement and public unrest.

"These days, when the State of Israel is in a state of war, the atmosphere in the public is very tense. Our abductees have not yet returned, and the police are busy with tasks - every Israeli citizen is expected to respect the law and listen to the police's instructions."

"Israel Police will not allow any attempt to violate public peace or attempt to incite, and will take a heavy hand against anyone who tries to do so."
