Assad welcomes terrorist Samir Kuntar in Damascus

Syrian President Bashar Assad met with terrorist Samir Kuntar at the Presidential Palace in Damascus on Monday, where the two discussed the current situation in Lebanon and Hizbullah's role in protecting the Lebanese people.
Kuntar was freed from an Israeli prison in 2008 as part of a deal that saw the return to Israel of the bodies of kidnapped soldiers Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev.
Kuntar brought Assad as a gift a book he wrote on his time spent in Israeli prison.
Kuntar, a Lebanese Druse and member of the Palestine Liberation Front , was sentenced to four life sentences in 1979 for the deaths of Danny Haran, 28, his two daughters and a policeman in Nahariya.
