At least 12 killed in 3 Baghdad back-to-back explosions

Three loud explosions shook central Baghdad in quick succession Sunday, killing at least 12 people and breaking a period of relative calm in the Iraqi capital after elections last month.
One of the blasts struck near the Iranian Embassy, said Maj. Gen. Qassim al-Moussawi, a spokesman for the city's operations command center. The other two were in western Baghdad. At least 12 people were killed and 42 were injured in the explosion outside the embassy, which was believed to have been caused by an explosives-packed car driven by a suicide attacker, according to two police officers and a hospital doctor. They said many of the victims were employees at a nearby state-run bank.
All spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to release details to the media.
