At least 45 injured in Palestinian cost of living protests

At least 45 people were injured when protests against the high cost of living in the West Bank turned violent, as demonstrators clashed with Palestinian Authority security personnel. In scenes reminiscent of the first intifada, protesters blocked main roads, burned tires and threw stones at PA policemen and institutions.
The violence, which was triggered by a recent rise in the price of fuel and basic goods, was the worst since the establishment of the PA in 1994.
